Welp, I guess that's the difference between working in theory, and working in practice.

I had recently measured out my garage and had given myself a mathematical pat on the back that, yes, in fact a third, smaller vehicle COULD fit in the garage — with room to spare!

Bzzzzzzzt, nope.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

The longboi is nearly the depth of the garage, so this is the absolutely closets I could get to the wall, AND around the framing for the garage door, AND without hitting anything. And if you put it in the middle, it’s too gosh darn long for a vehicle to park on either side, as the pinch point from the corner of the front bumper the the edge of the garage framing be all like “you shall not pass!” The Paseo is shorter than the longboi, but not by all that much.

Oh well, these are the kinds of things I do in my spare time...

I’m reminded of when we were renting box trucks for band and I had to tape out a truck bed on the band room floor to practice. Then I got the truck and SURPRISE! wheel wells exist.

I am entert aining similar thoughts of three cars in two spaces, the third car yet to be determined.  My garage is short too.  Thanks for the dose of reality.

Looks like you’ll have to settle for a handful of motorcycles instead.

If I had a short bed, there would be faint hope! ... For like, a 1982 Corolla- Tercel 3-door SR5... or maybe nine-tenths of an NA Miata.

Get yourself a few of these, 4 to be exact. Can move vehicles against the wall or bench as I did with my VW squareback to allow my spouse’s car space to park in there. Cushioning suggested.

Meanwhile, my “2 car garage” is so worthless that a) even a Civic is too long for the second spot and b) anything bigger than a crv in Honda’s current lineup is too wide for the first spot . We’d probably have bought a new Odyssey in December of ‘19, but for some reason Honda decided they needed to be several inches wider than they were 10 years ago..

The only JDM little car I’d consider is a Sera and it’s not all that smol.

Most new construction I work in that have a “ 2-car garage” couldn’t fit two modern cars in any reality.

Yup, it was one of the more annoying changes when we moved from a 1979 house with an over-sized 2 car garage to a 1997 house with a 2 car garage..

I realize now that the house I grew up -- a 70's split level -- actually was a 6-car tandem garage. Three doors and 2+ deep. Ohhhhhh the dream...

Our 1 car attached barely fits a Crosstrek both in length and width. But I was able to reorganize the shop to fairly comfortably fit 5 by going three wide in the back. It's 24'  guessing you are 20'?

Wheel dolly. I had the kind that required me to use a separate jack to get each wheel on the dolly. I didn’t know this kind, with the integrated jack existed back then. Well worth the extra $ to get this kind.

Why are you leaving so much space in between the truck and car? The mirrors aren’t even overlapping yet. Toyota drivers in Japan are laughing at your fear. Be a man they say, get the cars within 5cm of each other. ;)

I’d love a Sera or a Beat. Not sure how well they would do on Oklahoma roads though sadly, where the potholes can be big even for my Land Cruiser.
